The Albums

In America all albums were released on Mercury records, a division of Polygram Records. Some records and video collections were released on Def Leppard's own label, Bludgeon Riffola, part of the Polygram family. Def Leppard's records (or is that CD's nowadays?) are easily found in any record store or music department of any store.

The Videos

All videos are copywrited to Bludgeon Riffola and put out by Polygram Music Video. At least they're done this way in the states. Def Leppard's videos were more difficult to find. I finally traced them all down to Suncoast Video stores although Best Buy sometimes had them.

Songs that didn't make the Records

Beyond the Temple

- This was one of the first songs they recorded as a group back in 1979. It was scrapped because they felt it was outdated.

Glad I'm Alive

- Also from the May 1979 recording session. I'm not really sure what happened to this one.

Misty Dreamer

- This was the first song the band wrote. It was later rearranged into "Sorrow is a Woman" and released on their debut album.

Good Morning Freedom

- This was a b-side back from 1983. I've never heard it and don't know anything about it.

Elected

- This song was recorded live, and for that reason, Def Leppard decided not to release it on Retro Active. When Phil Collen was asked about a live album, he replied that live albums tend to lose a vibe and therefore they wouldn't put one out.

Now I'm Here

- Another Live track, they also performed this one at the Freddie Mercury tribute concert. It might have been a tad out of his vocal range, but he gives it his best and does pretty well.

Only After Dark

- Mick Ronson wrote this song (I think, but don't quote me on this), and I think they did it as a tribute because he died (?of cancer?).

Little Wing

- Recorded with the Hothouse Flowers (the people who did "From the Inside"), this is one of the BEST versions I have heard of this song. Joe's voice is really good.

You Can't Always Get What You Want

- Although I like the Rolling Stones, I almost like this version better. This was recorded with help from the Hothouse Flowers.
